I started using it and it makes a difference for large datasets, that simply do not fit in memory with the 32-bit version (reconstructing high resolution 3D volumes from projection scans). The 64-bit version for Mac is really nice.

It appears that many of the report vis may be broken in the 64 bit Mac version. Friday, Janu1:25:00 PM Christian said.Īlso basic formatting and printing of reports would be nice. I agree that embedding video is really a big feature need/request. Thanks for all the nice work! Thursday, Octo3:25:00 PM Christian said. I insist minimal support is enough (read/write frame by frame with OS codec). Video is everywhere now, doing without it is like not having sound/image five years ago. If it's time to make a suggestion: it would be great to add minimal video read/write, just like PNG/JPG is on every platform. Received the latest release and used for a few days: it is really cool!!!!Ħ4-bit is not in the box, trying to figure what we can do about it here. and a encouragement for keeping Labview on the right train! Still a lot of frustration on large projects. Actually, I find time to write this note because I am waiting for labview 2013 to complete type propagation, which takes minutes, loading only one of the four CPUs (!). I’ll check that when I finally get the CDs. There was no indication on the quote that the 64-bit version would not ship. Actually I just renewed it for continuity, before its expected end, and with great expectation to switch to the 64-bit version on Mac. Now, as an academic I am most surprised that the 64-bit version might not ship within our SSP.

A big thanks to NI for finally taking the wise decision to provide a true upgrade of the Mac/linux version, and a huge thanks to the developer team who did it! It’s been many years now that Mac supports 64-bit, which allows to handle larger datasets, and these years have been frustrating with 32-bit Labview. Labview multi-platform user since version 3, I really appreciate that Labview 64-bit is released for Mac. The more noise from customers makes it easier to get changes made. I'll see what I can do to influence the next release. Make sure you talk to your Sales Representative and let him know.

It appears that, currently, the only way to get Mac LabVIEW 64-bit is to buy a LabVIEW Full or LabVIEW Pro for the Mac (or get someone to buy it for you). I doubt I can change what is distributed where for LabVIEW 2014. Wednesday, Septem8:48:00 AM Unknown said.Ĭan you do anything about this? I think most of the people who are actually using lab view on a mac are students running it on their laptops. The complete academic suite does not support 64-bit, so a decision was made, to prevent confusion, to not ship LabVIEW 64-bit. I asked around and it looks like the Academic distribution does not ship with 64-bit Linux nor 64-bit Mac. This is really cool, thanks! How does one obtain it? I received our media today and the Mac/Linux media did not contain the 64-bit versions, even though they were addressed in the README file. We do not have an evaluation copy of 64-bit Mac LabVIEW at this point. Where can I find an installer for the 64 bit version? All I get offered is the Mac 2014 Evaluation Media that does not contain the 64 bit installer Friday, Aug7:36:00 AM Marc said. Where can I find an installer for the 64 bit version? I second the cry for NI-DAQmx! With that I could finally stay on mac for everything in the lab and would probably use LV for more than I do currently. This is great! Congratulations on all your team's hard work. As far as future product plans, you know the standard tagline, "We are always evaluating product directions based on customer feedback." In other words, I cannot comment on future products. I know several people who develop on their MacBooks and then deploy to Windows. It's great to hear from long time LabVIEW users. Now, any chance of building NI-DAQmx.?! Monday, Aug11:42:00 AM Marc said.

As a LabVIEW user since LV2, it's great to hear it's getting some love! I still write on a Mac, even if it runs on a PC in the lab I think it's good discipline to keep the code cross-platform.
